ABOUT US

OUR VISION

The Evangelical Christian Church "Ekklesia Ponsacco" aims to glorify God by bringing people into a personal and deep relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our strategy is to create a context in which Romanian, Italian or other nationalities have communion with God, connection with other believers and influence over their unsaved fellows...

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that:

  1. God: God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He existed forever in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6)

  2. Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal to the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people, dying on the cross. He rose from the dead three days later to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to the glory of heaven and will soon return to take His Church with Him, and then come with her to earth to reign 1000 years as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

  3. The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is equal to the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. It gives the Christian the power to live, to understand spiritual truth, and to guide him in doing what is right. He gives every believer at least one spiritual gift when he is saved. As Christians, we seek to live daily under His control. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 4:10)

  4. The Bible: The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for the Christian faith and life. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

  5. Human beings: Humans are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. Humans are the ultimate object of God's creation. Although each person has the potential to do good, we are all affected by an attitude of disobedience to God called "sin". This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

  6. Salvation: Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by personal perfection or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can one be saved from the penalty of sin. When we return from self-led life to Jesus Christ by faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins when one receives the Lord Jesus Christ in his life by faith. (Acts 4:12; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

  7. Baptism: Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and is your public statement that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, it shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not necessary for salvation, it is a biblical commandment and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ. (Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2:8-9; Matthew 28:19-20)

  8. The Lord's Supper: The Lord's Supper, or Communion, is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remind us of His sacrifice for us and to symbolize the New Covenant. The elements of bread and wine are symbols of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ. The Lord's Supper is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testimony of a believer's faith in the atoning work of the cross. (Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

  9. The Church: The Church is God's people. It is the Body of Christ, called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the primary instrument for God's redemptive purposes in history. The Church gathers as a family of faith to worship God, to grow in Christ, and to make Jesus Christ known to the world. (Matthew 16:13-19; Acts 2:42-44; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

  10. Eternity: Humans were created to exist forever. Either we are eternally separated from God through sin, or we are eternally together with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Eternal Life. Heaven and Hell are true places of eternal existence. (John 3:16-18; John 14:6; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9)
